1Acceptance of terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a legal agreement between you and Pawse ("Pawse," "we," "us") governing your download, installation, and use of the Pawse desktop application (the "Software"). By downloading, installing, or using the Software, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Software.
2The software & license grant
Pawse is a desktop app for Mac and Windows that reminds you to take eye-care and posture breaks while you work. Once you purchase a license, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use the Software on one (1) computer that you own or control.
The license is for the lifetime of the Software's current major version line, you're not renting access, and we're not going to cut you off as long as you stick to these Terms.
3Free trial
We offer a 7-day free trial with full functionality and no credit card required. When the trial ends, long breaks and advanced settings are paused; short breaks keep running with an occasional reminder to purchase. Nothing you've set up is lost, entering a valid license key picks everything back up right where you left off.
4Purchases & payment
Pawse is sold as a one-time purchase. The price shown at checkout is the total amount charged, in addition to any taxes required by law in your jurisdiction. Payments are processed by Stripe; we never see or store your full card details.
After a successful purchase, we send a license key to the email address you provided. Keep that email handy, it's how we verify your purchase if you ever need support or a refund.
5License restrictions
Unless we agree otherwise in writing, you may not:
- Share, resell, sublicense, or transfer your license key to another person
- Use a single license across more than one computer at the same time
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Software except where applicable law expressly permits it
- Remove or alter any copyright, trademark, or other proprietary notices in the Software

6Updates
Your license includes all future updates to the current major version of Pawse at no additional cost, new pet breeds, languages, and features included. If we ever release a substantially new major version sold separately, we'll always give existing license holders a discounted upgrade path.
7Intellectual property
The Software, including its design, artwork, pet characters, code, and branding, is owned by Pawse and protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. Purchasing a license gives you the right to use the Software, it doesn't transfer any ownership of that intellectual property to you.
8Disclaimer of warranties
The Software is provided "as is" and "as available." We do our best to keep it reliable and bug-free, but we can't guarantee it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or perfectly compatible with every system configuration. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.
9Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Pawse will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Software. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Software will not exceed the amount you paid for your license.
10Termination
You can stop using the Software and uninstall it at any time. We may suspend or terminate a license if we reasonably determine these Terms have been violated, for example, sharing a license key publicly or attempting to circumvent license validation. Where reasonable, we'll try to reach out first.
11Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Pawse operates, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where local consumer protection law gives you additional rights that can't be waived.
12Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms occasionally as the product evolves. If we make material changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, let existing customers know by email. Continuing to use the Software after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
