1Overview
Pawse is designed to be private by default. Your break schedule, pet name, language preference, and app settings all live locally on your computer, we don't see them, and they're not uploaded anywhere. This policy covers the small amount of information that does pass through us: mainly what's needed to sell you a license and let the app verify it.
2Information we collect
We collect information in three narrow situations:
- When you buy a license: the name and email address you enter at checkout, so we can issue your license key and send it to you.
- When you activate or use a license: your email address and license key, plus a basic device identifier, sent automatically so the app can confirm your license is valid.
- When you contact us: whatever you include in your email, for example, for support or a refund request.
We do not collect your break history, pet preferences, work schedule, or the names of applications running on your computer. App-based auto-pause (for tools like Zoom or Teams) is detected and acted on entirely on your device.
3How we use it
We use the information above only to:
- Deliver your license key and process your purchase
- Validate your license so the app knows it's activated
- Respond to support, refund, or other requests you send us
- Send occasional, relevant emails, such as a receipt or a major update announcement. You can opt out of anything beyond purchase receipts at any time.
We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for advertising.
4Payment processing
All payments are handled by Stripe, a third-party payment processor. Stripe receives your card details directly and processes the charge; we never see or store your full card number, expiry date, or security code. Stripe's own privacy practices govern how it handles that information, you can review their policy on Stripe's website.
5License validation
After activation, the app checks in with our license server roughly once a day to confirm your key is still valid. This check sends your email and license key only, Pawse works fully offline in between checks, so a missed connection won't lock you out.
7Data retention
We keep purchase and license records for as long as needed to support your license, handle refunds, and meet our accounting and tax obligations, typically for the lifetime of your license plus the period required by applicable law. You can ask us to delete your information sooner, as described below.
8Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete the personal information we hold about you, or to object to certain uses of it. To exercise any of these rights, email contact@pawsetime.com and we'll respond as quickly as we can.
9Children's privacy
Pawse is intended for general productivity use and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we'll remove it.
10International users
We may process and store information in countries other than the one you live in. Wherever your information is handled, we apply the same protections described in this policy.
11Changes to this policy
If we make material changes to this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, let existing customers know by email.
